Surgical & IV Sedation Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth recovery.

Before Surgery:

  • Please refrain from eating or drinking for at least 8 hours before your surgery.

  • Arrange for someone to drive you home after the procedure.

  • Bring any medical records or documents requested by our office.


After Surgery:

  • Bite gently on the gauze pad placed in your mouth to control bleeding. Replace the gauze as necessary.

  • Apply an ice pack to the side of your face to reduce swelling for the first 24-48 hours.

  • Avoid smoking, drinking through a straw, or sucking motions for at least 3-5 days post-surgery.

  • Take prescribed medications as directed to manage pain and prevent infection.

  • Rest and limit physical activities for a few days after the procedure to support your healing.
